About Houston Elementary School

Houston Elementary School offers a comprehensive educational experience focused on student development. Its mission is to grow and develop students' mindsets, academic skills, social-emotional skills, leadership skills, and bi-lingual/bi-literacy. A core program is Dual Language/Immersion, fostering fluency in multiple languages. Beyond academics, students can participate in enriching activities like DC Scores soccer, DCIAA coed-flag football, DCIAA boys and girls basketball, and Girls Scouts. The school day runs from 8:20 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and a uniform is required. Families residing in-boundary with a sibling attending or a sibling offered admission receive lottery priority. Houston aims to create well-rounded learners prepared for future success.
