The neighborhood sits along the Eastern Avenue boundary between DC and Prince George's County, giving families awareness of both school systems. Ward 7 families receive a priority point for Ward 7 schools in the DC lottery, and Metrobus connections along Eastern Avenue link residents to the Blue and Silver line stations at Capitol Heights Metro.
Ward 7 families can apply to any DC public or charter school through the unified lottery. The application window opens in November at schoolchoice.dc.gov.
