About Phelps Architecture, Construction, and Engineering High School

Phelps ACE High School (Phelps Architecture, Construction, and Engineering High School) is a selective DCPS application-based high school at 704 26th Street NE in Langston / Kingman Park, Ward 5, serving grades 9 to 12. Phelps ACE is one of DCPS's flagship Career and Technical Education (CTE) high schools — students complete a college-prep academic core alongside hands-on industry training in architecture, construction, or engineering.

CTE pathways

Phelps ACE structures all four years around three career pathways:

  • Architecture — design, drafting, AutoCAD / Revit, model-building
  • Construction — building trades, project management, OSHA certification
  • Engineering — civil, mechanical, electrical engineering fundamentals

Students take core academics (English, math, science, social studies, world language) integrated with their pathway. Many graduate with industry credentials, apprenticeship offers, or college-credit course completion in their field.
