John R. Thompson Jr. High School, formerly MacArthur HS, launched in August 2023 as DCPS's newest comprehensive neighborhood high school, designed to serve a wide range of student interests. The academic offerings include Advanced Placement courses, providing opportunities for college-level study, alongside Dual College Enrollment options that allow students to earn university credits while completing high school. Enrichment opportunities extend beyond academics with programs like Track & Field, Cross Country, Tennis & Golf, and Chess. The school operates from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and there is no uniform requirement. For families considering enrollment, lottery priority is available for Sibling Attending and Sibling Offered.
