Brightwood Elementary School strives to foster an environment that builds a pathway to college and career readiness by inspiring scholars to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. The school incorporates a Blended Learning program, integrating digital resources and teacher-led instruction to personalize education and meet diverse student needs effectively. Students can participate in enrichment opportunities such as DC Scores, which uniquely combines soccer with creative poetry, and FUNdations, a structured literacy program that builds essential reading and spelling skills. The school operates from 8:40 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Brightwood does not require students to wear a uniform, offering flexibility for families. Lottery priority is extended to students who are in-boundary with a sibling currently attending, or in-boundary with a sibling offered a seat.
