About Dallas County Schools

Strengthening Education Through Service is the credo of Dallas County Schools. As an intermediate educational agency, Dallas County Schools has a team of over 1,700 professionals who strive daily to serve Dallas County's 14 independent school districts.

Dallas County Schools has one of the 5 largest pupil Transportation fleets in the United States. Operating a fleet of approximately 1,700 buses, Dallas County Schools transports approximately 60,000 children to and from school safely each day. All of Dallas County Schools' buses are housed in DCS' ten Service Centers.

Our Instructional Media Services, with more than 10,000 titles, provides schools with a wide spectrum of quality educational services.

The School Psychological Services provides multiple services tailored to the specific needs of each student and school.

Our Technology Department helps integrate state of the art technology across all our DCS groups. Videos on demand, on-line test assessment, on-line continuing education and internet services are all examples of this service.

Approximately 300,000 students benefit from the services DCS provides. It is a documented fact that DCS saves each district significant tax dollars annually through the use of the Transportation, Media, Psychology and Technology Services.
