Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger "P" and School Bus "S" ; endorsement issued by the State of Texas.
  • Pass a pre-employment/post offer physical and drug screen as well as throughout employment. Exams/tests must be taken at a medical facility approved by DCS.
  • Anyone who has been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude may not be employed. Dallas County Schools will run a pre-employment criminal check, and will check criminal records throughout employment.
  • A person must receive satisfactory Driver Evaluations before and throughout employment.
  • Must complete and maintain throughout employment the Texas School Bus Driver Certification.
  • Must have an acceptable motor vehicle driving record. DCS monitors driving records throughout employment.

Please fill out an application at the Administration Building or at any of our Service Centers during regular business hours. Monday through Friday 8:00 AM -4:30 PM.
